FAQ
Does implant placement hurt?
During the intervention there is no pain, you may feel only pressure.
Do you need prior health information – if I smoke, if I have a chronic disease?
Yes, we need information on whether you smoke, whether you have allergies, whether you take medication, or if you have heart problems. You should also mention whether you are taking aspirin or other blood thinners.
What is the duration of the implant treatment?
The treatment consists of two phases. The first phase of procedures takes between three and four days. It begins with the removal of all teeth that have a poor prognosis and the removal of inflammation. The next step is to place the implants and transplant a bone if necessary. After that stitches are placed and an impression is taken for temporary dentures that are made in 24 hours. If the patient does not need a bone transplant, the recovery period is between 4 and 6 months and if the patient needs a bone transplant, the integration period is between 6 and 9 months. The second part of the implant treatment takes 5 full working days time during which the patient can choose the color, size and shape of the teeth.
What are the steps in the implant placement procedure - from tooth extraction to placing the crown above the implant?
Implants are the best and most modern treatment possible when there is an absence of one or more teeth. Unlike other methods of treatment (bridges and crowns), they not only fully restore the chewing function and aesthetics, but also prevent the inevitable bone loss that occurs in fixed bridges and crowns. These qualities make them indispensable in solving such dental problems.
What material are the implants made of?
The implants are made of special biologically tolerable titanium alloys, thanks to which the implant adheres to the bone without rejecting it as an external body (a process called osteointegration). The same material is used to replace the hip joint and in the implantation of prostheses of other joints in the body. Ceramic implants are used less often – especially in case of intolerance to titanium.
